What people thought
“We thoroughly enjoyed your concert on Friday...the music was beautiful. We really loved learning about the various types of music and instruments from Scandinavia - an education!”
“Thank you for a magical evening with Musica Nordica. It was so lovely – like being at a party with some music. I loved the instruments, the short pieces and I especially loved Toby’s chat. Hope you considered it a success. I can’t wait for the next event.”
“It was a pleasure to be part of such a wonderful event. We enjoyed it very much.”
“Hello and thank you for a unique and delightful evening of very special music: it was wonderful.”
“The evening was a great success. For a long time I haven’t responded to music quite as deeply as I did on Friday. I was really moved by it. There was something wonderfully unique and for me previously unheard in what you did. I loved the rhythmic complexity and ambiguity of the tunes. It was traditional but it wasn’t predictable AABB like so much Scottish fiddle music. I also enjoyed the rich harmonies of the violins. It was like listening to proto string quartets or the missing link - like finding Lucy - between folk and classical. It reminded me of Yoyo Ma’s Silk Road project. Except I could smell the clean sea air with a faint whiff of seaweed.
You have a wonderful team of musicians; the food was great too! I can imagine you playing at the opening of a Scandi - Scottish government summit or something like that, if such things exist!”
“We just wanted to say thank you! It was fantastic! It was lovely to get the music wrapped up in the narratives, and to be able to enjoy the looking as well as listening to all those amazing instruments. Thanks again.”
“That was a damned fine event. Great music, relaxed chat and those little intervals were a stroke of genius! You can all be very pleased with yourselves.”
