midSUMMER FESTIVAL
A seasonal celebration of Scottish and Nordic woods and music at the height of summer.
midSUMMER FESTIVAL is a one-day public live music experience, celebrating the Scottish landscape at the height of summer and establishing links with traditions from the Nordic nations, centred around the summer solstice.
Festivities which now mark the start of the summer holidays and a retreat to nature traditionally bestowed good fortune on the harvest and are rich with verdant motifs and symbols of new life.
midSUMMER FESTIVAL uses these traditions to inform the performance of music drawn from the folk and classical traditions, alongside exhibition and experience that celebrates the enduring connection between music and landscape.
Underpinning all this is a promotion of environment, conservation and wellbeing to declare our commitment to sustainable practice within the performing arts.
